WHO WE ARE AND WHY WE ARE HERE

The Oath Keepers began as a civic outreach effort to support members of the militry and law enforcement in fulfilling their sworn Oaths to "Defend the constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic."

Our mission has always been to better educate every Guardian of our Republic on the true purpose of the Constitution, which is "to preserve Liberty for the People."

Yet this will only be achieved by the stalwart defense of the Supreme Law of the Land that guarantees our Freedoms. We must exercise eternal viligance against all who would take them away. It is a lifelong commitment and the reason a Constitutional Oath does not expire.

Today, this commitment can be found in every community throughout America. People from all walks of life are joining the Oath Keepers ranks. In fact, New York State is one of the fastest growing statewide chapters in the country.

In addition to military service members and peace officers, our membership now includes first responders such as fire fighters, search and rescue professionals, emergency response and disaster relief experts, EMT specialists and medical practitioners.

Constitutional scholars, teachers and lawyers have also come to aid in the Mission. Tradesmen, entrepreneurs, writers, and artists are all bringing their vast knowledge and talents to the Oath Keepers cause.

Emboldened by the founding Principles of God-given Liberty, and empowered by our non-negotiable Bill of Rights, we know we are on the right side of History.

Together, we vow to carry forth the fundamental American traditions of self-sacrifice, self-reliance and self-determination. We do this for our families and our freedoms, our neighbors and our Nation. And we will do so forever, with Honor.
